Serial Numbers

Yaesu appears to use the following format for 
serial numbers on their amateur products: 

Year of manufacture-Month of manufacture-Production 
Run-Individual Unit number 

Example: 9D051234 = 1999, February (second month, or "D"), 
Production Run 05, unit #1234 in this run. 

(Apparently Yaesu does not use the letters A or B as 
a letter in the second position, hence the first month, 
January, would be a 'C', February is a 'D', etc..)
